If you are overweight,
you have plenty of company. According to the
National Health and Nutrition Survey, 58
million adults ranging from ages 20 to 74,
are overweight. The weight loss industry
makes in excess of $40 billion a year, but
up to now, has lacked the fundamental
clinical understanding of the problem of
weight control.
Take, for example,
the word DIET. It implies a negative
connotation right out of the gate and, even
scarier, look at the first three letters and
tell me what it spells.....DIE. The
word diet also implies something that you do
temporarily. So, you diet AGAINST
your normal patterns of behavior (which are
in your subconscious mind), and you lose a
little weight (temporarily). But, because
your subconscious mind likes to keep things
consistent, it will regulate your body to go
back to what it was doing before the diet.
Isn't that true?
Diets work, but not
for the long term. Any diet that you cannot
stay on for the rest of your life is doomed
to fail because you will regain the weight
and more when you go off the diet. It is
essential to find the deeply rooted cause of
the problem and change the fundamental
belief system in regards to over eating in
order to allow permanent change to take
place.
Your subconscious
mind holds all of your beliefs, beliefs that
you may not be aware that you have. These
are the beliefs that keep the weight on your
body. That doesn't make your subconscious a
"bad guy" and there really is no one at
fault here.
The subconscious
just does what it is programmed to do and
somewhere it received bad programming
through the suggestions it picked up through
your five senses: hearing, seeing, taste,
touch and smell. In addition, your habits
play a big role, as do your emotions. So, no
matter how hard you try to break a habit at
a conscious level, the subconscious is much
more powerful and will win you over,
eventually causing you to go back to what is
considered "normal" for you.
To get a clearer
understanding, let's look at how we learn.
We make a decision to learn something, and
through repetition, it becomes hard-wired
into our subconscious mind. Once it's in the
subconscious, our conscious mind is now free
to do other things like analyze and make
decisions. Can you imagine if you had to
rely on your conscious mind every time you
went to drive your car, write a sentence,
read a book, speak or play sports?
Do you remember when
you first did these things? They were
completely conscious endeavors. Now that
they have formed into existing behavior
patterns within your subconscious mind, they
are there for you, without even thinking
about them. Now, imagine un-learning these
things!!!!! For example writing with your
left hand if you're right handed or learning
a new language and forgetting English at the
same time. This is how hard it is to change
your habits when it comes to food or weight
or anything else.
Using the power of
hypnosis and speaking directly to the
subconscious mind, we can speed up the
process of change by changing the
programming. The subconscious mind readily
accepts new information when you bypass what
we call the critical factor, which is what
happens during hypnosis. In order to make
permanent changes in your life, it is
necessary to get your subconscious mind in
agreement with what you want to
accomplish....rather than fighting and
struggling to work against it, Hypnosis will
have you WANTING to eat the right
kinds of foods, WANTING to drink more
water and WANTING to exercise.
